Arrival in Djanet

Arrive on a night flight and be warmly welcomed at Tiska Djanet Airport. Transfer to your traditional desert huts nestled in an oasis, setting the tone for the adventure ahead with a perfect blend of comfort and anticipation.

Day 1: Discover Djanet and Adhaeig

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the Djenan before exploring the area and learning about responsible ecotourism. Kick off your adventure with an exhilarating 4×4 journey to Adhaeig, where you’ll traverse sandy corridors and explore ancient rock paintings on foot. The day concludes with a stunning sunset, a traditional dinner, and a musical evening under the stars.

Day 2: Journey to Imourouden via Timghas

After an early breakfast, head towards Timghas, crossing small dunes and visiting remarkable rock art sites. Continue to Imourouden to explore its legendary cave and unique wind-carved mountains. The day ends with a sunset hike in Tikoubaouine, followed by a campfire dinner accompanied by live Tuareg music.

Day 3: Explore Tikoubaouine

Start your day with a guided walk to see the mountain shaped like a giant elephant and discover ancient rock paintings. After lunch, hop into your 4×4 and navigate through labyrinth-like corridors between towering mountains, ending with another serene night under the desert sky.

Day 4: From Tikoubaouine to Issendilène

Begin the day with a hike through a canyon, leading to the lush oasis of Issendilène. Visit the guelta and explore the gardens before heading to Erg Admer by 4×4, where you’ll climb fine sand dunes and witness a breathtaking sunset. The evening concludes with a traditional bivouac and musical performance.

Day 5: Discover the Oasis of Ihrir

Set off for the famous Ihrir oasis via the scenic National Road 3. Stop at Dider to explore the intricate rock engravings at Tin Taghirt, then continue to Ihrir, where you’ll explore the canyon of Idharen and spend the night in a tranquil setting.

Day 6: Explore the Guelta and Return to Erg Admer

Spend the morning walking to the gueltas and along the riverbed of Ihrir, uncovering rock paintings along the way. After lunch, return to Erg Admer for an evening of dune climbing, a delicious dinner, and stargazing.

Day 7: Return to Djanet

Travel back to Djanet and dive into local culture with visits to the city’s market, museum, and the famous “Crying Cow” rock carving. Explore the fascinating Ibabourene rocks and end your day with a peaceful sunset walk across the dunes.

Day 8: Departure

Enjoy a relaxing morning before transferring to the airport for your return flight, leaving with unforgettable memories of the Sahara.
